Traditional Irish Music & Song

The HiBs (pronounced High Bees) are Kate & Jode Dowling and Patsy O’Brien. HiB is short for Hibernian, of course, the Roman name for Ireland, but the name was also inspired by one of their favorite pubs in Cork City. Kate and Jode are masters of flute, tin whistle, and fiddle.  Patsy is a world reknonwned singer, guitarist, composer and song-writer.  For concert performances, they are joined by talented friends including, singers, percussionists (bodhran) and by dancers displaying the traditional old-style Sean-nos steps.

The HiBs play and teach true, straightforward traditional Irish music at festivals, pubs, weddings, private and corporate events, schools, formal concerts, dances and sessions. They are sought after for their traditional céilí and set dance music and enjoy including traditional dance & dance instruction in their performances.
